Honda is set to unveil the 2015 Civic Type R at the Paris Motor Show, later this week. But, to build up the excitement, Honda has revealed the Type R Concept on which the new hot hatchback will be based. The previous iteration of the Honda Civic did not go down well with enthusiasts and the company was forced to come up with a refresh.
The 2015 Honda Civic Type R concept certainly does not look boring from any angle and we hope to see a production model as funky as the concept itself.
Having said that, there are some reports about the engine that will power the 2015 Honda Civic Type R and it is good news in this department as well. The new model could feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with i-VTEC and direct-injection.
Preliminary horsepower figures indicate that the 2015 Type R could give the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG a run for its money. How about that? Now, the A45 AMG has a similar engine that puts out 355 hp. The Honda Civic Type R is expected to make around 320 hp! Plus, it is lighter the AMG which is all-wheel drive.
