2019 Corvette ZR1 beats the Ford GT to set new VIR Lap Record

A $120,000 Corvette ZR1 is faster than a $400,000 Ford GT around Virginia International Raceway (VIR).

Recently, the Ford GT accidentally set a new lap record at the Virginia International Raceway (VIR). The Ford GT went around the Grand Course layout in 2 min 38.62 sec beating the previous best time set by the Dodge Viper ACR. Well, the record didn’t stand for long. The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has already beaten the Ford GT’s time. It went around in 2 min 37.25 sec setting a new production lap record of the circuit.
