Mercedes-Benz is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the launch of a very special car. To mark the occasion, the Mercedes-AMG GT C Edition 50 was unveiled at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show on Monday.
The newly added variant of the AMG GT C will be available with a matte black paint or as Mercedes like to call it- Graphite Grey Magno finish with black chrome highlights and new design, center locking alloy wheels.
The Mercedes-AMG GT C Edition 50 gets a bespoke interior with the dark theme carried over from the exterior. The premium nappa leather is dyed in silver pearl of black, the AMG Performance steering wheel covered in DINAMICA microfiber with “Edition” lettering. The version comes fitted with AMG Night Package as standard. This includes black sills, steering wheel spokes and gearshift paddles.
At its heart, the AMG GT C Edition 50 is powered by a 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 that pumps out 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. It will do 0-60 mph in 3.6 sec and can a reach a top speed of 197 mph.
The 50th anniversary model will be limited to just 50 coupes and an equal number of roadsters will be built.
