Nissan GT-R US Prices Slashed By $10,000

It’s still an expensive sports car. But a $10,000 cut in prices will definitely get more butts on the seats of the Nissan GT-R.

An acquaintance of mine is a hardcore GT-R fan. Sadly, he can’t afford one at the moment, and probably that’ll be the case for a couple more years. Anyway, even he was jumping on the couch in joy when the news of the 2018 Nissan GT-R prices being slashed by a neat $10,000 hit the web. Now all that remains is the daunting task of moving to the free world and piling up the cash needed to grab a Godzilla by the neck.

The 2018 Nissan GT-R is now available through select dealers in the US and following the positive customer response to last year’s comprehensive facelift, Nissan has gone ahead and made some more enhancements in the range. A new GT-R Pure model, Apple CarPlay and a new black “Kuro Night” color for the Premium Interior Package are some of the noteworthy additions.

The Godzilla has evolved in the years that followed its 2009 debut. The prices shot up as the kaiju developed over the years and to drive off in a 2017 base model Nissan GT-R cost around $111,000. Nissan decided to check the price surge and that has reflected in a $99,990 price tag (excluding destination fee) for the base model GT-R Pure. Don’t complain about being denied of the titanium exhaust, Bose sound system, Active Noise Cancellation, and Active Sound Enhancement that’s available on the higher models.

Having said that, the prices of the other models in the Nissan GT-R range have registered sort of a spike. The GT-R Premium costs $110,490, GT-R Track Edition will set you back by $128,490 and the top-of-the-line GT-R NISMO will empty your account with a $175,490 asking price.

The Nissan GT-R will still be able to undecorate your Christmas tree like the way it did a couple of years ago.

But the sole fact that the entry ticket to the Godzilla club has gotten cheaper by $10,000 is reason enough for many car enthusiasts to celebrate. You get a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that churns out 565 hp of power and 467 lb-ft of torque for that money. And having the sharp 6-speed dual-clutch transmission coupled with that proven all-wheel-drive system helps too.
