Being the highest performing retailer for a supercar brand comes with some privileges like being able to commission special edition cars from the brand’s renowned customization divison. That’s exactly what McLaren Beverly Hills has done. The dealership has commissioned a six special edition cars from MSO (McLaren Special Operaions). These are collectively known as “Racing through the Ages” collection and include the 570S Coupe and the 570S Spider in three themes each.
The three distinct themes commemorate McLaren’s racing heritage and include Muriwai, which celebrates Bruce McLaren’s early racing exploits in New Zealand; Papaya Spark, which honours victories in orange throughout the 1960s and 70s and the continued use on modern McLaren Formula One cars and Sarthe Grey which is inspired by McLaren’s Le Mans victory in 1995.
Every “Racing through the ages” special edition 570S is fitted with an MSO designed rear wing, a GT4 racing stripe on the exterior hood and roof, complemented by a MSO Defined Black Pack, 10-spoke super-lightweight forged wheels in gloss black and an MSO Defined titanium SuperSports exhaust.
The interior features the GT4 stripe integrated into the backrest of the seat and the MSO logo stitched into the headrest, as well as a McLaren Orange 12 o’clock mark on the steering wheel. Each car also features a dedication plate stating, “1 of 6 – RACING THROUGH THE AGES” and comes with a key finished to match the paint on the car.
While McLaren is on a busy launch spree of new models, it’s still not letting out on frequent special edition vehicle reveals. The new “Racing through the Ages” collection reflects that brand strategy and we expect a lot more special edition and bespoke vehicles to be released in the coming months.
