BMW is putting the final touches on the M2 CS. According to reports, the new car will be lighter than the standard M2 and will have more power. It is also expected to get a revised aero package.
Starting with the exterior, the new M2 CS could get a redesigned front bumper with an integrated splitter and larger air vents. It could get new side skirts and rear bumper as well as a larger spoiler. Like the M3/M4, the M2 CS is expected to get a carbon fibre roof as well.
Contrary to previous reports, the BMW M2 CS is likely to be powered by the same 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder engine as the M2 Competition, albeit with a few updates. In the M2 Competition, this engine makes 405 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, but the M2 CS might benefit from a few additional horses. The engine could be offered with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The M2 CS is expected to get a few chassis tweaks including new dampers and springs, anti-roll bars and reduced ride height. It could also get carbon ceramic brakes from the M3/M4.
