With the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show debut of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, the 911 range has expanded.

The new member of the 911 family just made its debut at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. Mated with the 379 hp, 331 lb-ft, twin-turbo 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine powering the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet is an 8-speed PDK transmission. An all-wheel-drive system and Porsche Active Suspension Management are part of the standard equipment.

Equip this 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show debutant with the optional Sport Chrono Package and it’ll do a 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds. Floor the pedal and the hardtop will delight you with a 180 mph top whack. Things are a bit slower, but still applause-worthy in the cabrio. 0 to 60mph takes 4 seconds and the top speed will rest at 179 mph.

Perforated, ventilated discs and four-piston calipers with a black finish hold on to the 19 and 20-inch wheels to provide stopping power. Ceramic composite brakes and a limited slip rear differential with torque vectoring are optional extras.

It’ll be difficult to distinguish the 911 Carrera 4 from the 4S though. The only standout feature happens to be at the rear – a rectangular, single-tube exhaust pipe on both sides for the 4, while the 4S gets a pair of round, twin-pipes.

Porsche USA has started accepting orders for both the coupe and the cabriolet variants of the 2020 911 Carrera 4. Deliveries for the $104,700 coupe and $117,500 convertible will begin in early 2020.
