Can a hybrid hypercar beat a fighter jet in a drag race?

BBC has dropped a trailer of the upcoming series of Top Gear and the star attraction this time will be the McLaren Speedtail.

Back in 2007, Top Gear raced a Bugatti Veyron against a Eurofighter Typhoon. 12 years later, it’s time for another hypercar versus fighter jet race. This time, in place of the mighty Bugatti is the hybrid McLaren Speedtail. Taking on the best from Woking is America’s newest stealth fighter – Lockheed Martin F35 Lightning II.

The F35 is powered by Pratt & Whitney F135 jet engine that takes it speeds in excess of Mach 1.6. The Speedtail comes with a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain that puts out 1036 hp. It has a top speed of 250 mph.

So, who do you think will come out victorious – USA or Great Britain? Our money is on the fighter jet.
