The World’s Fastest Ford Mustang isn’t a really a Mustang

The world’s fastest Ford Mustang doesn’t look like your average pony car you see at dealer lots.

This car might look like a Mustang, but underneath it’s a purpose built dragster. The Mustang NHRA Funny car has 11,000 hp, which catapults its from zero to over 330 mph in just 3.8 seconds.

Now, the Shelby GT500 is one of the fastest, street-legal Mustangs you can buy from a showroom near you. It is powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter, V8 engine that delivers 760 hp and 625 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds, which is pretty pedestrian compared to the Funny car.
