The 2023 Porsche 911 Safari has been spotted on the outskirts of Dubai. The car was seen testing its off-road capabilities in the sand dunes.
The 911 Safari has been in the news since Porsche showcased a concept back in 2012. The 911 Vision Safari concept was essentially a high-riding, off-road-oriented 911 based on the 991-generation. The production version will be based on the latest 992-generation.

As you can see, the concept is simple, an all-wheel-drive coupe inspired by the 911 rally cars of the past. Of course, it won’t be as practical as a crossover, but that’s not the point of this car. It could be introduced as yet another limited edition model.
It’s not just Porsche who is building a jacked-up 911. Gemballa has already the 911 Turbo S-based Marsien. However, unlike Porsche’s version, the Marsien looks more like the 959 rally car from the 1980s. It is powered by a turbocharged flat-6 engine that puts out 818 hp and is claimed to do 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds. The car can hit a top speed of 205 mph.
Gemballa is building just 40 units of Marsien, at a cost of over half a million dollars apiece.
