The first sketches of Bugatti’s Pebble Beach car have allegedly leaked online. Is this really Bugatti’s new €8 million hypercar?
Auto Motor Sport has posted an image of what is believed to be the sketch of the limited edition Bugatti hypercar that will be unveiled at Pebble Beach. It is said that the image was on a “greeting card”. Also, note Bugatti Design Director Achim Anscheidt’s signature at the bottom.
So, what can we make out from this image?
While the car is most likely to be based on the Chiron, it could feature a completely new design. Our sources have told us that the styling is nothing like we’ve seen before. As per the sketch, the car has the familiar Bugatti horseshoe grille at the front. However, it appears to be placed lower down. On either side of the grille are air vents with two horizontal strakes. An S-shaped feature can be seen in his head-on view. We suspect that it might house the headlamp clusters. Besides this, the car has a wide shoulder line and it might have a large rear spoiler as well.
If this really is Bugatti’s new hypercar, then we think that it looks more toned down compared to the Divo. While the Divo has the looks of a track weapon, the new model could be more of a grand tourer. That said, sources have told us that the car would look more “refined and elegant”.
We have also learned that Bugatti won’t be putting out any teasers ahead of the official unveiling. Therefore, we might not see the car anytime before August 16, 2019.
