And the new teaser emphasizes how the DB heritage is very much a part of the Aston Martin DBX SUV.
It plays out like a James Bond movie opening credits scene. This time rapid cuts, close-ups, morphs, everything else that the creative team found right to convey the message that the Aston Martin DBX SUV is a quintessential Aston are effectively used. No camouflaged prototypes conquering the outdoors. This is a proper studio floor production.
The focus is of course on the front grille which follows the distinguishable design language of the DB range. You see glimpses of the DB11 right there. The similarities with the grand tourer don’t end with the front grille. The DB11’s 503 hp, twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8 sourced from AMG will be employed in the DBX. However, the SUV will be at home off the road unlike the low-slung which prefers to do intercontinental mile-munching on well-paved roads.
The all-new platform on which the DBX is based has a greater purpose for Aston in the long run. This architecture will be the foundation for the all-electric Lagonda models which are being drawn up for the future.
The teaser video concludes with a gentle reminder of the official launch date – December 2019. And Aston has started accepting orders already.
