Aston Martin has just announced its plans for Pebble Beach. Among the list of cars that will be presented during the 2021 Monterey Car Week, there will be something really special. We are likely to witness the global debut of the Aston Martin Valkyrie Roadster.
The Valkyrie Roadster was earlier confirmed by the company’s CEO Tobias Moers. It is likely to share its underpinnings and powertrain with the coupe, the production of which, is yet to commence. The engine will be a Cosworth-built 6.5-liter, naturally aspirated V12 mated to a Rimac-sourced KERS hybrid system. Its combined output is 1176 hp that will be channelled to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Valkyrie Roadster will be the third variant of the hypercar after the Valkyrie AMR Pro track version which was revealed earlier this year. The open-top Valkyrie is expected to feature a removable carbon Targa top.
Besides this, the Valhalla will makes its North American debut this month. The production version was revealed in July this year. It sits below the Valkyrie in Aston’s line-up and is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 and a hybrid system that develops 937 hp and 738 lb-ft. The engine is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
According to Aston, the Valhalla weighs 1550 kg and can do 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds. It has a top speed of 217 mph.
A V12 Speedster finished in Aston Martin Racing Green will also be put on display. This stunning open-top supercar costs almost a million dollars and only 88 examples are being built. It is powered by a 5.2-liter, twin-turbo V12 engine that delivers 700 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque.
