Part of the experience of driving a supercar is down to the engine note or the aural sensation it provides. The V12 engine is probably the best sounding internal combustion engine today. It ain’t economical, but it does excite one’s soul with every dab of the throttle. The more commonly found 6.0-liter V12 is sort of a globally accepted standard capacity for a V12 powerhouse that has an optimum performance to weight ratio.
Supercars like the Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari 599, Ferrari Enzo, Maserati MC12, Pagani Zonda, Aston Martin Vanquish are all powered by V12 engines with more or less the same capacity. These engines produce power roughly in excess of 600 horsepower. While, modern V12 engines are set to make a switch to forced induction, the naturally aspirated engines are the ones that sound like music to all petrolheads.
