The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport was back at the Bilster Berg racetrack in Germany, this time in full production spec. This was the first time that customers and select media got to test drive the track-focused Chiron.

The Pur Sport is powered by an 8.0-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine which pumps out 1500 hp and 1180 lb-ft. The engine revs to 6900 rpm, 200 rpm higher than the standard Chiron. A 15 percent shorter transmission ratio improves acceleration. As a result, 0-62 mph comes up in 2.3 seconds instead of 2.4 seconds and 124 mph comes up in 5.5 seconds instead of 6.1 seconds. The top speed is limited to 217 mph.

“Despite the incredible challenges of the past few months due to the COVID-19 lockdown, we are on schedule and can now finally show Bugatti customers how the new Chiron Pur Sport feels,” says Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti. “You have to experience this hyper sports car for yourself and feel what’s special about it in order to be able to appreciate the unbelievable work of the entire team. Our customers can therefore push the Chiron Pur Sport to its limits on the Bilster Berg race track and then experience its everyday usability on public roads.”

The Chiron Pur Sport marks the culmination of a long development process spanning 1.5 years and over 50,000 km of testing. Earlier this year, the hypercar also paid a visit to the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
