A lot has been said about the new BMW 4 Series and its enormous front grille. So, when the new-gen 2 Series came out, it seemed like BMW was listening to its fans. The hideous grille has been dropped for a more conventional look. However, a closer look reveals the true extent of the mess.
Frank Stephenson, who has worked with BMW in the past, isn’t impressed with the current design language. It looks like a mishmash of multiple lines, shapes and surfaces that somehow don’t go well together.
Frank puts it really nicely when he says, “BMWs are pure, lightweight, clean design, and this is adding a lot of verbs, a lot of nouns.”
