We all know that Porsche is set to unveil the 2022 Cayman GT4 RS this month. Our sources tell us that the unveiling is likely to take place on the 17th or 18th of November. Rumors suggest that there could be a surprise in store for us as well.
The Cayman GT4 RS is the hottest version of the 2-door coupe and we can expect incrementation changes over the regular Cayman GT4. For starters, the mid-mounted 4.0-liter, flat-6 engine is expected to churn out around 500 hp, up from 414 hp and 309 lb-ft. A slick 7-speed PDK will do the duty of transferring all that power to the rear axle.
Besides the engine, the GT4 RS will also get a slew of chassis upgrades. The suspension will be dialled-in for track use, allowing for better grip around corners. Speaking of grip, the GT4 RS will also get an upgraded aero package. Test mules have been spotted with a more aggressive front end, NACA ducts on the bonnet and a massive rear spoiler.
To top it all up, the GT4 RS is likely to get centre-lock wheels shod with stickier rubber. The car will also be stripped out to reduce weight over the standard GT4.
Now, let’s talk about the surprise reveal.
According to our sources, Porsche plans to reveal a second car during the same week. We have reasons to believe that it could be a new limited edition model, possibly the 911 Sport Classic.
