Ferrari Roma is a 2-door coupe with a front-mid mounted V8 that’s aiming to take on the likes of the Aston Martin Vantage.

A few hours ago, Ferrari unveiled its new 2-door coupe. It’s called the Roma and Ferrari describe it as a “2+ coupe”.

The Ferrari Roma looks like a typical front-engine coupe with swooping lines and a fewer angular surfaces and vents. Overall, it seems like the car has been designed for a more a wider customer base. It has a low slung front grille and LED headlights similar to those on the Ferrari Monza. At the rear, it has quad LED tail lights and quad exhausts. As you can see the styling is less fussy, unlike some of the modern Ferraris. However, it does have a retractable spoiler – that black surface with the Ferrari logo just below the rear windshield pops up at certain speed.

Moving to the interior, the Roma certainly looks like the next generation Ferrari from the inside. It has the new 3-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. The dashboard wraps around the passenger compartments with the centre console splitting the two. A vertically oriented touchscreen now sits in the middle. Like I said, Ferrari calls it a “2+ coupe”, which suggests that the rear seats would be less than ideal for an adult human being.

Under the not-so dramatic bodywork of the Ferrari Roma is a 3.9-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 611 hp and 561 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission from the SF90 Stradale. According to Ferrari, the Roma will do 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds and top out at 198 mph.
