Just when you thought 755 hp was more than sufficient to put most supercars to shame, Hennessey Performance has released a tuning upgrade for the McLaren 765LT.

The HPE1000 upgrade for the 765LT comes with ECU recalibration, high-flow air filters and a stainless steel downpipe. The engine is calibrated on the dyno to produce no less than 1000 hp. Surely, that should be more than enough for a car that has already proven to be extremely quick.

“The new 765LT is underrated from the factory. We tested it on our in-house dyno and it delivered about 765 hp – at the rear wheels. This means it’s producing closer to 865 bhp in bone stock form,” said Hennessey. On the 93-octane fuel, the engine developed 780 hp!

In stock form, the McLaren 765LT accelerates from 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds. With the Hennessey upgrade, this time drops to 2.1 seconds.

The HPE1000 package costs just $24,950. We say “just” because that isn’t a lot when you consider the kind of performance you’re getting. Besides, for a person who has spent over $300,000 on a supercar, it shouldn’t be a cause for concern.
