Lighter and more tail-happy version of the Lamborghini Huracan is here!

Lamborghini has unveiled the rear wheel drive version of the Huracan Evo. It is intended for those who are looking for a more engaging driving experience.

“This car reminds the driver of Lamborghini’s pure engineering origins: the driver is at the center of the Huracan Evo RWD’s performance, with unfiltered feedback and an emotive and more engaging driving experience controlled by the pilot,” said Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali. “The Huracan Evo RWD performance relies on the harmony between man and machine: driving skills and the Huracan Evo’s RWD mechanics deliver perfectly balanced dynamics, physical feedback and a pure performance.”

The Huracan Evo RWD may have slightly less power than its all-wheel drive sibling, but it makes up for it by sending all of 610 hp to the rear wheels. It should be no less exciting than the latter. Power is derived from the same 5.2-liter, V10, naturally aspirated engine. The engine is de-tuned from 640 hp, while torque has been reduced to 413 lb-ft. The same 7-speed dual-clutch transmission has been carried over. However, Lamborghini has tweaked the Performance Traction Control System for better traction out of corners. Similarly, the Dynamic Steering system has also been tuned for better feedback.

Moreover, the Huracan Evo RWD weighs 73 lbs less compared to the all-wheel drive version. It tips the scales at 3062 lbs. Lambo claims that it will do 0-62 mph in 3.3 seconds and the top speed is 202 mph.

There are subtle changes to the exterior as well. The RWD version gets revised air intakes, a new front splitter and rear diffuser. The 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment is compatible with Apple Car Play.

Prices for the 2020 Lamborghini Huracan Evo RWD start at $208,571 (before taxes) in the US.

In November 2019, Audi also introduced a rear-wheel drive version of the R8. Click here to read more about the Audi R8 V10 RWD.
