In February, SSC showcased the first customer Tuatara. For the first time ever, we saw the 300 mph hypercar out on public roads. In yet another first, SSC has now released a video demonstrating the car’s brutal acceleration.
It’s no surprise that the SSC Tuatara accelerates like a 300 mph hypercar should. But, you also get to hear the raw sound of its twin-turbo V8 engine. As you may be aware, the 5.9-liter, twin-turbo V8 unit delivers 1350 hp on 91-octane, and goes up to 1750 hp on E85.
Now, this is just a taster of what the Tuatara is capable of. This beast is claimed to reach 300 mph. It will be interesting to see how it gets there. We might see the Tuatara’s in-gear acceleration maybe in a future video.
