The 765LT is the hottest new McLaren on the block. As you might have guessed, the Long Tail version of the 720S doesn’t come cheap.
The McLaren 765LT was unveiled last month. It’s the replacement for the 675LT and the newest Super Series model. Only 765 units will be built and if you’re in the US, it will cost you $358,000 before options.
Compared to the 720S, the new model is weighs 80 kg less. The updated aero package includes a new splitter, side skirts, redesigned rear diffuser and a slightly longer rear wing. McLaren claims that the updates have resulted in a downforce gain of 25%. The car also gets a wider front track and the suspension has been lowered by 5 mm.
And finally, the 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine has been re-tuned to produce 755 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. The engine is hooked up to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
McLaren plans to switch to hybrid powertrains soon, so the 765LT could be among the last non-hybrids. McLaren’s first entry-level hybrid is expected to arrive later this year.
