It has been one year since McLaren revealed the Artura hybrid supercar. While we await the announcement of the start of production, a track version of the car is already under development.
The McLaren Artura GT4 is expected to replace the 570S GT4, which has been around for 6 years. The race car was recently spotted testing at the Monza circuit in Italy.
The heavily camouflaged test mule can be seen sporting a large fixed rear spoiler. The aero package also includes a more aggressive front splitter with dive planes on either side. Also, the regular windows have been replaced with a perspex sheet.
The McLaren Artura GT4 is expected to be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. In the road car, this motor produces 577 hp and 431 lb-ft of torque. The internal combustion engine is assisted by a hybrid system that adds another 97 hp, which will not make it onto the race car.
