The McLaren Senna proves that it’s quicker than the Ferrari 488 Pista.
The folks at Sport Auto have set an unofficial lap record of the Hockenheim circuit in a McLaren Senna. The supercar completed a lap of the track in 1 min 40.79 seconds.
Interestingly, the Senna beat the Ferrari 488 Pista’s time of 1 min 45.90 seconds by 5 seconds. This makes it the fastest production car to have lapped Hockenheim.
While it may look odd, there’s a good reason why the Senna is part of McLaren’s Ultimate Series – it’s just freaking fast! Peel away the carbon bodywork and you will find a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine that churns out 789 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. The car will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds, while 0-124 mph comes up in 6.8 seconds. The Senna has a top speed of 208 mph.
Some of the other supercars that have lapped the circuit include the Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro (1 min 48.00 sec), McLaren 600LT (1 min 48.90 sec), Lamborghini Huracan Evo (1 min 49.00 sec) and the McLaren 720S (1 min 48.20 sec).
