Mercedes-Benz has taken the wraps off the new S65 AMG Coupe- a new member of the Mercedes-Benz family. The S-Class Coupe replaces the old CL-Class with a more dynamic premium sports coupe with attractive looks. The S65 AMG model gets a hefty V12 engine crafted by AMG. This time, due to environmental regulations and stuff, Mercedes have had to employ twin-turbos to the 6.0-liter engine. That’s good news, if you want more torque. The AMG V12 does deliver 738 lb-ft and has a total output rating of 621 horsepower.
Now, while the base versions come with optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive, the S65 AMG Coupe makes do with just rear wheels drive. A 7-speed automatic transmission mated to the powerhouse pushes the car towards 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds. This being a Mercedes-Benz, the interior of the coupe exudes luxury. Leather and wood, along with metal trim make up a gorgeous cabin. Comfort has been further optimized with MAGIC BODY CONTROL system that adjust the electronically controlled pneumatic suspension as you move along. The car rides on 20 inch polished wheels and comes with steel brakes as standard, while carbon ceramics make up the options list.
The list of driver aides just keep increasing with every generation of cars. It is a similar story with S65 AMG Coupe. The car comes with assisted steering and autonomous driving feature. Most of the systems can be controlled via a touchpad that sits on the center console. The Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe costs about $314,150 which puts it right among the segment heavyweights- Rolls Royce and Bentley Motors.
