Modified Subaru WRX STI Smashes Isle of Man TT lap record

Subaru WRX STI Time Attack- Isle of Man TT Lap Record-1

Mark Higgins has done it again. The three times British Rally Champion has smashed the Isle of Man TT lap record in a heavily modified Subaru WRX STI.

Higgins beat his own lap record of the 37.73 mile course set back in 2014. Driving a Subaru Impreza WRX STI Time Attack, Higgins had just three laps to beat his previous best time of 19 min 15.88 sec. Well, he destroyed that record by setting a 17 min 49.75 sec lap at an average speed of 126.971 mph.

The car obviously was heavily modified for job. Built by Subaru USA in collaboration with Prodrive, the WRX STI Time Attack machine is powered by a souped-up 2.0-liter boxer engine. It makes around 600 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. It also features a drag reduction system which allows the car to hit a top speed of 180 mph on the straights.
