Owner of Ford GT that Caught Fire Receives a New One

In June 2018, a brand new Ford GT owned by Instagram user: @muc.collector burned to the ground in Munich. The news spread just as fast as the fire engulfed the supercar. Ford took notice of this incident and announced that it would investigate the matter. Just 2 months later, Ford has already shipped a replacement car finished in the same spec as before.

At the time of the incident, the car was virtually new with just 40 miles on its odometer. The fire appeared to have started somewhere in the engine bay and later spread to other parts. Luckily, no one was injured. The owner posted this image of his new Ford GT on Instagram. According to him, Ford was quick to react and appears to be pretty satisfied with the outcome.

Memory day for J060. I can however inform you that Ford reacted in no time and produced another GT in exactly the same spec. Fingers crossed it will have a longer history. #fordgt #ford #gt

The second-generation Ford GT has dumped the supercharged V8 for a 3.5-liter, twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 647 hp and 550 lb-ft of peak torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
