A unique Porsche 911 R Steve McQueen Edition sold for a whopping €515,200 at a charity auction on Wednesday. 25 percent of the price above the reserve was donated to Gustave Roussy foundation- a leading cancer research institute.

First of all, it’s fully kitted out with all the options and very special ‘paint to sample’ finish. The exterior is finished in Slate Grey with the 911 R stripes in silver. Porsche decals in yellow match the color on the brakes calipers. The interior is dressed in black leather with houndstooth inserts.
A most unique feature on the Porsche 911 R Steve McQueen Edition has to be the illuminated door sill cover. The personalized door sill is inscribed with McQueen’s famous quote- “Racing is life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.”
