Bugatti currently has a whole fleet of test cars at its Nurburgring facility, including ultra-rare examples like the Centodieci, Divo and the Chiron Super Sport 300+. We recently saw the complete line-up in Misha Charoudin’s video where he got a chance to ride along in the Centodieci.
While Misha was busy filming his vlog, CarSpyMedia was capturing the scene from the sidelines. Later, the cars went out for a lap of the Nordschleife. The track was pretty damp at the time which made driving these 1500+ horsepower hypercars precarious. Here’s a video of the 300 mph Chiron Super Sport powersliding into Eiskurve just past Brunnchen.
This is a good example of why one shouldn’t take liberties with a hypercar, even if it’s all-wheel drive. In this case, it’s the mighty Super Sport 300+ with some of the fattest tires ever fitted on a road car. But, in conditions like these, even the widest contact patch isn’t enough to handle 1600 thumping horsepower from that 8.0-liter W16 engine.
