Red Bull Racing will design a new Aston Martin Hypercar to rival the likes of LaFerrari and McLaren P1. Codenamed AM-RB 001, the “next-generation hypercar” will be designed and built at Gaydon- home of Aston Martin in collaboration with the famous F1 engineer and designer Adrian Newey.
According to Autocar, Aston Martin plans to build 100 units of the new hypercar which will be superior to any performance road car ever made. In fact, it will lap the Silverstone circuit faster than an F1 car. Having said that, details of the upcoming Aston Martin hypercar car sparse, however according to sources, the design will be inspired by LMP1 race cars.
The project will bring together two of the greatest automotive designers- Adrian Newey who built the championship-winning F1 car for Sebastian Vettel and Marek Reichman of Aston Martin design.
The $2.5 million Vulcan was a great success for Aston Martin. From what we’ve heard, the AM-RB 001 is shaping up to be a worthy successor to the Vulcan. Prices for the Aston Martin hypercar are expected to be in the millions and the first cars will be delivered to super-rich collectors by 2018. A conceptual mock-up will be unveiled to prospective customers in the next few months.
