If you think that a hybrid Lamborghini is sacrilege, the Aventador SVR might be your last chance to own a non-hybrid V12 bull.
The Lamborghini Aventador has been around since 2011 and is due for a replacement. But, before the model bows out of production, Lamborghini is said to be working on one last iteration. Known as the Aventador SVR, it could be the last non-hybrid V12 Lamborghini.
According to a McLarenLife forum member named Champagne612, The Aventador SVR will be powered by a naturally aspirated V12 engine tuned to produce 830 hp. Unfortunately, it is likely to be track only and production is said to be limited to 40 units. It is believed that the first cars could be delivered in 2021.
It would be safe to assume that the Aventador SVR could feature a more aggressive aero package and a stripped out interior. The 40 lucky customers might also be offered exclusive track day packages similar to Ferrari’s Corse Clienti program.
Lamborghini recently announced the Sian – it’s first hybrid supercar. It packs an 819 hp, supercapacitor-based hybrid powertrain. One day, this technology is expected replace the atmospheric V12 engine altogether. Moreover, the days of the non-hybrid V12 Lambo are numbered and reports even suggest the Aventador replacement will indeed get a hybrid heart.
