If you think Formula 1’s Mercedes-AMG GT R safety car is cool, you haven’t seen this.
On August 25, 2019, Japan hosted the 10 Hours of Suzuka at the famous Suzuka Circuit. Endurance racers from all over the world took part in this event. The grid consisted of mainly GT3 cars including the Mercedes-AMG GT3, Ferrari 488 GT3, Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3, Honda NSX GT3, Lamborghini Huracan GT3, McLaren 720S GT3, etc.
But, the star of the event had to be the safety car / official car. I don’t think there’s anything cooler than a Pagani Zonda R safety car. This particular Zonda R resides in Japan and was probably invited for the event. Of course, being the pace car, it had to be kitted out with a light bar. A few lucky individuals even got a ride of a lifetime in the Zonda R.

The Pagani Zonda R is the ultimate track version of the Zonda. Only 15 cars were built, each wrapped in an absolutely insane looking carbon fiber bodywork. At its heart is a 6.0-liter, naturally aspirated V12 engine, which you can clearly hear as the car rolls down the start/finish straight. The engine puts out 730 hp and 524 lb-ft of torque, which drives the rear wheels via a 6-speed sequential gearbox. The Zonda R can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and will reach a top speed of 233 mph.
