Aston Martin has revealed more details of the V6 engine that will power its future mid-engined sports car line-up. The Valhalla will be the first to receive this new engine.
Aston Martin’s new V6 engine is codenamed TM01. It’s a 3.0-liter, turbocharged unit in a ‘Hot V’ configuration. This means the turbochargers will be positioned between the two banks of the cylinders (as in AMG’s V8 engine). The compact motor is said to weigh less than 200 kg. It uses dry sump lubrication.
The internal combustion engine is complimented by an in-house developed hybrid / plug-in hybrid system. Aston has not provided any details on this. The new engine is designed to meet all future emission requirements for Euro 7.

The twin-turbo V6 engine is expected to produce around 1000 hp. The engine could be paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch. The car could be capable of 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 220 mph.
The Valhalla will be positioned below the Valkyrie in Aston Martin’s line-up. Only 500 examples are expected to be built.
