This seems like a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ-based Speedster

After Ferrari, McLaren and Aston Martin, Lamborghini is now all set to wow us with a new speedster.

Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse racing division has released an image of a prototype speedster on their Instagram. The car appears to be based on the Aventador SVJ. Of course, it has no roof and being a speedster, it has no windshield either.

The camouflaged prototype says “Attenzione macchina veloce aperta” on sides. It means, “Attention fast open car”. Given the fact that it has appeared on Squadra Corse’s page, it could be a limited edition model.

Now, this came as a surprise to us. So, we reached out to our sources who usually have a fair bit of idea as to what’s cooking inside the Sant ‘Agata factory. They’re yet to get back to us, so we won’t speculate about what this new supercar might be, for now.

This isn’t the first time Lamborghini has built a speedster. They had presented the Aventador J (Jota) at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. It was powered by a 690 hp, 6.5-liter V12 that was paired with the same single-clutch transmission as the standard Aventador.
