Netflix is unloading three movies in the Fast and Furious franchise in September. Are your favorites leaving the garage?
In Netflix car content news, streaming service has decided to pull three movies in the Fast and Furious series from the movies line-up. The three installments will exit Netflix in September first week.
So, which all adventures of the crew will seize to be available as this month draws to a close? The first three have been picked – The Fast and The Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious and The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift.
While this may be disheartening to fans of the franchise, do note that Netflix loves the Universal property so much that an animation series is in development – Fast and Furious: Spy Racers animation. The animation series will focus on a new character – Toretto’s teenage cousin, Tony – who has been recruited by a secret government agency to infiltrate and take down an elite and obviously villainous racing organization.
It’s normal to see the streaming service removing some of the old content to make room for new entries. Like Hobbs and Shaw which is currently in theaters and showing some decent growth in its collections worldwide. Once it concludes its run, Netflix will happily add Hobbs and Shaw to the collection of Fast and Furious content on the platform.
We were slightly concerned about the spin-off’s box office performance in our early report. However, with the Jason Statham-Dwayne Johnson-Idris Elba actioner getting a superb opening in China, things are finally looking good for the action flick.
