The Porsche 911 Turbo S is not what you’d line up in a drag race against V12 supercars like the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and the Ferrari 812 Superfast. But, if you do, you wouldn’t be disappointed.
The guys at CarWow seemed quite confident in their V12 supercars, but were left disappointed after the race. The 911 Turbo S is the cheapest and least powerful car among the three and yet, it destroyed the SVJ and the 812 Superfast in a quarter mile drag race.
The Porsche did the standing quarter mile in 10.2 seconds, while the Lamborghini and Ferrari did it in 10.4 seconds. The Porsche lost out to the much more potent supercars in the rolling races but clawed back in the braking test.
The Ferrari with its hefty kerb weight and rear wheel drive was at a disadvantage from the start. While the Lamborghini had fewer horsepower, it benefited from all-wheel drive traction and less weight. However, it was clearly let down by that single-clutch automated manual gearbox.
The star of the race however, was the Porsche 911 Turbo S. It may not be the most exciting of the lot, but it sure is quick.
