You don’t need a 1000 horsepower to drive around town. Besides, as long as you car can do about 100 mph, you can drive on a highway without any issue. If that’s the case, why do you need a 1500 hp Bugatti Chiron that can do 267 mph?
You certainly don’t need all that grunt and top speed to pootle around city streets. But, hypercars like the Chiron or the Koenigsegg Jesko and the Pagani Huayra are like swiss watches. They’re expensive and complicated, yet people buy them because there’s an emotional value attached to these timepieces. Similarly, there aren’t many cars that make you feel special.
