Lamborghini has a solution for those wanting to take their Italian supercar rallying. Please welcome the Huracan Sterrato Concept.
A few days back, we had reported that Lamborghini was planning to unveil something exciting on June 4, 2019. Well, this is it and it’s not we were expecting. The Huracan Sterrato is a supercar that can tackled “challenging environments”. I’m not sure who would want to take a Huracan off-road, but of course, Lamborghini would have done some market research.
The Huracan Sterrato Concept is based on the Huracan EVO and features the same 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 engine that pumps out 640 hp. It comes equipped with Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI), which includes four-wheel drive with torque vectoring, four-wheel steering and modified suspension to cope with rough terrain.
Compared to the standard Huracan EVO, the Sterrato’s suspension has been raised by 47 mm. This has resulted in an increase in approach and departure angles. The track width has also been increased by 30 mm, hence the wide wheel arches. It rides on 20-inch wheels that are shod with specially developed tires.
The car is also fitted with underbody protection including a skid plates at the front and rear, aluminium side skirts, composite bodywork with stone-deflection protection around the engine and air intakes and mud guards. The Sterrato has a striking off-road LED light package. Inside, it has a lightweight titanium roll cage, 4-point seat belts and carbon bi-shell sports seats and aluminium floor panels.
